A little about me . . .
Hello! My name is Christine Scholte and this will be my eighth year teaching fourth grade at East Elementary. I have high expectations for my students and plan on pushing their thinking to new levels. We will be using many different methods to do this including everything from science experiments to art projects. I also firmly believe in creativity and having fun while learning so students should stay on their toes!
In regards to my education, I am a graduate of the Mountain Home School District and have previously attended Hacker Middle School, MHJH, and MHHS. I continued my education at the University of Idaho where I obtained my Idaho Teaching Certificate and my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. I graduated with a minor in Spanish and an endorsement in literacy as well. (I enjoy adding the Spanish language into my classroom and students may begin bringing some phrases home!) I have also obtained my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Idaho, and I am currently working to obtain a second Master's from Boise State University in Mathematical Thinking and Instruction.
Outside of school, I enjoy reading, riding my bicycle, and walking my dog, Bear. One of my greatest joys is traveling and I have had the privilege of visiting countries like the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, France, England, Italy, and most recently Denmark. I'm always on the lookout for an adventure!
If you have anything you would like to discuss with me, please feel free to contact me and I will do all I can to help! The best way to reach me is by email at scholte_cm@mtnhomesd.org. I check my email throughout the day and will respond as soon as I can. You may also call the school at 587-2575 during school hours. If you would like to meet in person, please contact me beforehand so we can set up a time.
It will be another amazing year in fourth grade!
